प्रस्तावना
इंग्रजी विषयात Prose (गद्य) हा एक महत्त्वाचा भाग आहे. Prose म्हणजे साध्या आणि सरळ भाषेत लिहिलेला मजकूर. यात कथा, माहिती, अनुभव किंवा एखादी घटना सांगितली जाते. कविता (Poetry) प्रमाणे Prose मध्ये यमक किंवा छंद नसतो.

Finally she brought his iron axe. The woodcutter was happy. The fairy was pleased with his honesty and gave him all three axes.
